‘Quality Childcare is our Speciality’

First Steps Childcare Agency is a professional childcare service for Wiltshire, Bath and the surrounding areas. Rebal Farr - owner of the business, is a highly experienced, and qualified Nursery Nurse, with an NVQ Level 3 in Child Care.

I started my career in nurseries as a nursery nurse, then went on to work in after school and holiday clubs, progressing through my career to become a supervisor. I currently work as a nanny part time.                                                                                                                          First Steps Childcare Agency recognises the importance of good quality childcare. We offer a range of services to assist you and your family. This can be helping to recruit the right nanny, organising a reliable babysitter or finding a suitable maternity nurse.

Duties may include:

·      Children’s activities within the home as well as swimming, library visits and trips to the park

·      Drop off/collection from school/nursery

·      Maintaining a clean and tidy environment for the children can be a very flexible option offering reliable childcare within your own home, therefore offering stability and familiarity to the children as well as being offered a whole range of activities on a low adult to child ratio.

·      Preparing children’s meals and relevant baby milk/food.

·      Children’s laundry and ironing

·      Bathing and dressing children

A nanny can be a qualified or experienced childcare professional, usually with an NNEB, NVQ 3, or BTEC qualification. They can be daily or live-in where you provide the accommodation. Most positions are sole charge with the nanny performing all nursery duties. They are not usually expected to carry out general housework, family shopping or cooking.

Choosing a suitable babysitter is just as important as any other kind of childcare. If you require someone regularly due to frequent late evenings, working at weekends or a busy social life we can supply staff that are already working with children and have completed our strict vetting procedures. They can be available both during the day and evenings to accommodate your requirements. We place regular babysitters to encourage a good relationship between the children and carer and promote continuity for the family. Additionally, if you have an emergency and need a babysitter at the last moment, please contact us to enquire about the availability of one of our ‘emergency sitters’ who are on our books to cover for your last minute needs.

Mothers Help

If you work from home, or want some extra help with your family’s childcare, a Mother’s help can be the answer. They are available to help you out with caring for your family when necessary, and can also look after the children on a sole charge basis when you need them to. A Mother’s help becomes part of the family as well as your childcare solution. Mother’s helps are usually qualified to the same level as Nannies so you have peace of mind when leaving your children, knowing they are in safe hands at all times.

Our Services

At First Steps Childcare Agency, the needs and safety of your family come first. Therefore we guarantee:

·      All of our child-carers will have been personally interviewed and references and ID’s checked. CV’s and references are available for your perusal before you interview all prospective childcarers. If a childcarer does not have a CRB police check one will be carried out before they are put forward for employment.

·      We will advertise any nanny /nursery positions on the web-site and update regularly. No names or personal details will be shown – all contact and interview arrangements are made through the agency once childcarers have been cleared for employment.

·      Once a nanny is appointed we will organise a follow up to ensure that you are satisfied. Fees are only payable once a position has been offered to a childcarer and accepted.
